Description

Reduced pinking

Salanova® Kalat RZ Knox™ is a red butter multileaf lettuce. It has strong, slightly larger than average leaves that are dark red with a beautiful contrast, making this an attractive addition to salad mixes. Kalat RZ is a member of the Salanova family; with just one cut at the base, the lettuce separates into numerous tasty, ready-to-eat, evenly proportioned leaves, which is an advantage for consumers, chefs and the fresh-cut industry alike. Furthermore, Kalat RZ has the Knox™ trait which reduces pinking in lettuce after cutting, thus extending the shelf life and reducing waste. The heads of Kalat RZ have an attractive regular shape. The plant maintains good vigour through colder periods. Kalat RZ is recommended for both indoor and outdoor production, including for high-density plantings and machine harvesting.
